So it's measurements time again, and I am also down to 245lbs!
It's actually a half lb gain on my last weigh-in, but I'm still shrinking, so I'll take what I can get and be happy. :)

Do your choices in High School affect your choices in life?
I was in the shower (for the second time today, thank you exercise) and I was thinking back at past relationships, and how they may have changed my perception of men over the years.
Safe to say that I was never the popular choice for guys in school. I had crushes, obviously. But they always dated the 'popular' slim, pretty girls and avoiding the chubby nerds like myself.
I did have a couple of guys that liked me. OK, so one has since discovered he's gay, and the other was very short but it did make me feel good at the time. I had one 'relationship' as well, but it was very much in the closet/behind closed doors, and the guy made me promise not to tell anyone about us, not even my closest friend. At the time I thought he was just being sweet and not wanting anyone to interfere. How stupid was I?!
So anyway, now I am neither dating a tall or athetic/slim man, yet I have never been happier! I wonder if it was because of my rejection by those types of guys in school that I opened myself up to a wider 'type' and didn't write him off because he didn't conform to an ideal. If that is the case then maybe I am glad I was overweight in high school. I think I'm a better person than most of the shallow people I used to know. :)

Running For My Life.
After a disappointing 1lb loss last week I am very happy to see 4.5lbs lifted from the scale. I've now lost just over 3 stone, and according to FitDay I am less than 100lbs to my highest healthy weight. My BMI is 40.02, so almost out of the 'Morbidly Obese' catagory!
I've upped my workout this week to include another class, and of course I did my first run yesterday. Only managed 5 minutes, but I'm happy to take baby steps in this particular activity. Would love to be able to do a 5K before Christmas!
Going to try my first RPM (Spin) class next week, and will be back in the pool now that the last of the kids are back at school. This is my first serious and successful effort at losing weight, and I'll be damned if I'm going to go into anything half-heartedly!

Time for a new plan.
So I've been having a bit of a plateau over the past two weeks, and safe to say I DON'T LIKE IT!!! So I spoke to my Personal Trainer and he suggested mixing up my cardio and classes to confuse my body back into weight loss.
I've been toying with the idea of adding a spin class into my routine and possibly dropping/alternating a couple of other classes. So I'm definitely taking his advice and mixing it up from next week onwards doing alternative weeks.
Week 1:
Monday (work):
20:00 Tai Chi
Tuesday:
10:15 Body Pump
18:15 Legs Bums Tums
Wednesday:
9:30 RPM (Spin)
19:00 Aqua-Aerobics
Thursday:
17:55 Body Pump
20:45 Salsacise
Friday:
10:15 Legs Bums Tums
Saturday:
10:30 Body Pump
Sunday:
Rest
Week 2:

Thursday:

21:00 Salsacise
Friday:
10:15 Legs Bums Tums
Saturday:

Sunday:
Rest
Each day I hope to also add 30-60 minutes of walking/cardio and 15 minutes of weight-training on days I don't do Body Pump. I'll also be swimming 2-3 times a week.

What a difference a week makes.
OK, so I had a rather unimpressive 1lb loss on the scale this week, but I'm definitely going through a positive transition at the moment. Finally in my sz 22 jeans, and a pair of sz 22 non-stretchy trousers that 10 weeks ago I couldn't do up. I also tried on a pair of sz 22 jeans in my local ASDA and they were big, everywhere! I'm fairly sure I'm not in the next size down yet, but obviously it's getting closer. What a difference a week makes?!
Back to working normal hours from next week, just Monday and then the rest of the week is left for me to do my thing. I was a little inactive last week, only managing the gym 4 times. So it's time to change that and get the scale moving a little more swiftly again. I'm allowed to hope, aren't I?!
So now I'm standing at 260lbs and a UKsz 20/22. My confidence has rocketted and I'm hoping for more successful in the future, and getting under the 250lb mark!

You Will Bloody Fit/Failure Is Not An Option.
Still unable to do up my size (UK sz) 22 jeans, but after a healthy 4.5lb loss this week I'm getting very close. (Support pants will do the rest I'm sure!)
Worked extra hard last week, doing a new class and an extra class, walking 3 miles instead of 1, and generally sweating more in the gym. It paid off for sure!

9. -4.5lbs
I was a bit disheartened after seeing -2lbs a few weeks ago, but a bit of extra work really does make the difference. I've adjusted my diet with suggestions from my personal trainer too, and that also seems to be helping. I feel strong, healthy and my confidence is sky-high. I've actually spent a good £40-£50 on clothes this week, including my first sports bra and a size 20 top, which while being a generous size is still 1-2 sizes smaller than I'd have bought 9 weeks ago!
This is the most weight I've lost EVER, and the longest I've managed to stick with a plan. I guess I really wanted this time?

2 Months?!
I cannot believe that I have been doing this for 2 months already. I know I keep saying it, but why didn't I bloody do this before?! It's so much easier than I thought it would be, and with my eyes on the prize I don't think I have even 1% doubt that I could ever fail.
3.5lbs off this week, it's an improvement on last week! Every pound gets me closer to my first milestone of 249lbs. Current weight is 265.5lbs.
Stepping it up at the gym next week. Usually I take 4 classes, but this time I'm moving up to 6. And when my little brother goes back to school I'll add another couple. Still gearing myself up for Spin, I don't think I'm at that level yet.
Got a Monday job now. It's not difficult and the time goes quickly, so I can't complain. It's a bit of money in my pocket that I'm grateful for.
Period finally stopped, but if I follow my cycle properly I'll have another one in the next week or so. What a pain!

Highs and lows.
Mmm, was it's been a mixed bag this week.
I had my review, and it went well. I've lost 11.5 inches all over and my standing heart-rate has dropped by 20 bpm. I got a new work out (which is very tough), and my trainer was really impressed by my progress. I've been pushing hard and getting good results, so I thought he would be.
The downer on the week is that my period still hasn't completely finished. Even after 3 weeks! It caused me to gain a couple of lbs in water-weight, and I had vicious cramps yesterday. I still powered through my work out, but it wasn't at all fun. The end result was a 2lb loss on the scale. I'd been looking at a 4lb loss, but attack of the water-weight saw that off. Seems like I'm down one of those lbs today, so everything is still going as it should. I just want my extended visit from Aunt Flo to stop, NOW!

Interview and Review.
Another 5lbs down this week. Seems to be my magic number. I'm pleased though, nonetheless.
Had a job interview today for a position as a parcel wrapper. Only 1 day a week, but completely perfect for me right now seeing I'm in the gym full-time. It'll pay for my membership, and any new clothes I may need following my weight loss. I'll know by tomorrow if I'm successful or being offered a work trial subject to other suitable candidates.
Got my 6-Week review tomorrow. I'm being measured, weighed and having my blood pressure tested, etc. I'll also get a new work out routine, which is great. The one I have has been too easy for a number of weeks now. I've got my fingers crossed all over the place for two decent results tomorrow!

On reflection...
I've been a bit emotional for the last few days. Really regretting that I didn't start this journey a couple of years ago. I really feel like I've let so many years slip away, and it's a bitter pill to swallow each time I look at pictures of old friends who have made something of their lives. I've dealt with loads of issues and could've turned to any unhealthy substance. It just happened to be food, and 150lbs of excess fat is the result.
Some friends have told me to seek counselling, but I'm not sure I believe in therapy. I told them I deal with things in my own way, and they looked me up and down and told me they believe that. OK, so point taken but it's still not for me. I've replaced junk food with exercise, and I'm sure any therapist is going to tell me I'm on the right path anyway. So I think I'll save my money for something else, like a new wardrobe in the near future!
Hoping for a good weigh-in tomorrow, so far the scale has moved in the right direction this week. Worked pretty hard, tried a new class and been making my own dinners for a change. Everything is pretty positive so far, fingers crossed.

Another mini-goal smashed!
What a great week I've had! 5lbs down, and my second mini-goal of getting under 20st (280lbs) has been smashed. I'm now 276lbs. Still obviously grossly overweight, but smiling nonetheless.
I'm starting to enjoy the benefits of being 22lbs lighter. With largely increased fitness levels and slightly looser jeans. Not dropped a dress size yet, but I'm confident it's coming in the next 3-4 weeks.
Another surprise this week was the return of my period after a 2 year absence. I had some mild cramps, but from my weekly loss it seemed unlikely that I retained any water. Didn't have any cravings either, and I remember eating masses of junk food when I had periods before.
I'm glad some of the ladies I post with on FitDay are having success this week also. It's nice to be a part of it and being able to share and celebrate achievements with others!

One small step for me.
Righto, so it's midweek and according to the scales today I am 3lbs down from Saturday. I'm sure it's just a pleasant looking fluctuation so I'm not making it official just yet, but I am rather pleased anyway! I am wondering how seeing as I stuffed myself Saturday? Could it be that the extra protein I had on that day helped in some way? The mind certainly boggles.
Also managed 30 minutes on the Ellipital/Cross trainer, and that's an achievement I will celebrate! I only managed 5-10 minutes 5 weeks ago. It's immense how quickly you increase your work-outs while barely realising. Maybe in another 5 weeks I can do a full hour? I'll treat that as a goal I think.

Tough week!
OK, so I struggled through this week a bit, but the scales were going in the right direction with a loss of 2.5lbs.
Only swam twice due to the pool being overrun with brats. (I hate summer holidays!) Though I did my water aerobics on Wednesday and Salsacise on Thursday, which was different and fun.
Fell off the wagon a bit yesterday as there was a huge BBQ at my house and I ended having some ice cream, White bread and butter, fruit juice and chocolate. Didn't graze massively though, but I'm not expecting miracles on the scale this week.
Have noticed my fitness improving though. My heart rate is lower, especially during work outs, and I can do double the time on machines. In many cases a lot more than that. I have lacklustre days, but on the whole I'm powering through everything.
On reflection I just wished I'd done this years ago!

Lost my first stone!
So only 1.5lbs down last week, but it takes me over my first minor-mini goal. I've lost 1 stone! 14.5lbs to be precise.
I'm down to 283.5lbs and close to my next minor-mini goal of under 280lbs. (20 stone)
OUCH, it does hurt to admit that I weigh more than 20 stone, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can say that I'm officially back in the teens!
Got a busy workout week planned, with an hours cardio every day, water-aerobics on Wednesday and swimming today (Monday), Wednesday and Friday. Hopefully I'll see more than a twitch on the scales this week.
I'm looking forward to the 9/10th of August, my 6 week review so I can see if I've lost any inches since I started. I don't look any different, but I'd love to see my hard work translated in inches!

Second Weigh-In.
OK, so on my first week I lost 8lbs this week I lost 5lbs.
I know I should be really pleased, but I really thought I should have done better. Some of my work-outs were a little lackluster, and I only swam twice. I also didn't keep a tight leash on my calorie intake, so I've no idea how many I was consuming.
I'm sure for now on my losses are going to start getting smaller, so I need to work harder from today. If I get another good loss this Saturday I'll be amazed, and very pleased!

The beginning of the end (of being fat!)
Well, hello and welcome to my Blog. I'm new to this, so be gentle!
Basically I'm keeping this as a weight loss tracker, a way to connect with other dieters, and somewhere to air my views and frustrations.
So here we go;
I've always been a large girl, ever since being a child. Old habits are dying hard, and after stepping on the scale a couple of months ago just to find they don't go that high I freaked out and decided enough was enough.
On June 27th 2010 I started at my local gym weighing a ghastly 298lbs! A week later I had lost 8lbs, and I'm continuing from there.
I weigh-in every Saturday, so I'll probably update mainly then, and any other time I need to vent.
Cheers and enjoy my journey!
