Do your choices in High School affect your choices in life?
I was in the shower (for the second time today, thank you exercise) and I was thinking back at past relationships, and how they may have changed my perception of men over the years.
Safe to say that I was never the popular choice for guys in school. I had crushes, obviously. But they always dated the 'popular' slim, pretty girls and avoiding the chubby nerds like myself.
I did have a couple of guys that liked me. OK, so one has since discovered he's gay, and the other was very short but it did make me feel good at the time. I had one 'relationship' as well, but it was very much in the closet/behind closed doors, and the guy made me promise not to tell anyone about us, not even my closest friend. At the time I thought he was just being sweet and not wanting anyone to interfere. How stupid was I?!
So anyway, now I am neither dating a tall or athetic/slim man, yet I have never been happier! I wonder if it was because of my rejection by those types of guys in school that I opened myself up to a wider 'type' and didn't write him off because he didn't conform to an ideal. If that is the case then maybe I am glad I was overweight in high school. I think I'm a better person than most of the shallow people I used to know. :)

Running For My Life.
After a disappointing 1lb loss last week I am very happy to see 4.5lbs lifted from the scale. I've now lost just over 3 stone, and according to FitDay I am less than 100lbs to my highest healthy weight. My BMI is 40.02, so almost out of the 'Morbidly Obese' catagory!
I've upped my workout this week to include another class, and of course I did my first run yesterday. Only managed 5 minutes, but I'm happy to take baby steps in this particular activity. Would love to be able to do a 5K before Christmas!
Going to try my first RPM (Spin) class next week, and will be back in the pool now that the last of the kids are back at school. This is my first serious and successful effort at losing weight, and I'll be damned if I'm going to go into anything half-heartedly!

Time for a new plan.
So I've been having a bit of a plateau over the past two weeks, and safe to say I DON'T LIKE IT!!! So I spoke to my Personal Trainer and he suggested mixing up my cardio and classes to confuse my body back into weight loss.
I've been toying with the idea of adding a spin class into my routine and possibly dropping/alternating a couple of other classes. So I'm definitely taking his advice and mixing it up from next week onwards doing alternative weeks.
Week 1:
Monday (work):
20:00 Tai Chi
Tuesday:
10:15 Body Pump
18:15 Legs Bums Tums
Wednesday:
9:30 RPM (Spin)
19:00 Aqua-Aerobics
Thursday:
17:55 Body Pump
20:45 Salsacise
Friday:
10:15 Legs Bums Tums
Saturday:
10:30 Body Pump
Sunday:
Rest
Week 2:
Monday (work):
20:00 Tai Chi
Tuesday:
18:15 Legs Bums Tums
Wednesday:
9:30 RPM (Spin)
13:00 Tai Chi
19:00 Aqua-Aerobics
Thursday:
17:55 Body Pump
21:00 Salsacise
Friday:
10:15 Legs Bums Tums
Saturday:
10:30 Body Pump
Sunday:
Rest
Each day I hope to also add 30-60 minutes of walking/cardio and 15 minutes of weight-training on days I don't do Body Pump. I'll also be swimming 2-3 times a week.

What a difference a week makes.
OK, so I had a rather unimpressive 1lb loss on the scale this week, but I'm definitely going through a positive transition at the moment. Finally in my sz 22 jeans, and a pair of sz 22 non-stretchy trousers that 10 weeks ago I couldn't do up. I also tried on a pair of sz 22 jeans in my local ASDA and they were big, everywhere! I'm fairly sure I'm not in the next size down yet, but obviously it's getting closer. What a difference a week makes?!
Back to working normal hours from next week, just Monday and then the rest of the week is left for me to do my thing. I was a little inactive last week, only managing the gym 4 times. So it's time to change that and get the scale moving a little more swiftly again. I'm allowed to hope, aren't I?!
So now I'm standing at 260lbs and a UKsz 20/22. My confidence has rocketted and I'm hoping for more successful in the future, and getting under the 250lb mark!
